Social proof

Social proof shows small notifications on your site, like "Someone from Berlin just joined the waiting list".

Real events only

Sitebase never invents social proof messages. The toasts come from real recent activity on the same website: waiting list signups, newsletter subscribers, lead magnet requests, testimonials, and optionally contact forms or custom forms.

If there are no recent events, no toast is shown. Empty social proof is better than fake social proof.

How to add it

  1. Open a website in the dashboard.
  2. Click + Add more in the sidebar.
  3. Add Social proof.
  4. Open Setup and copy the script snippet to your site.

Configuration

The Config tab lets you choose which source events can appear, where the toast shows, and how often it rotates. Sources that are not enabled on the site are shown with links to add them.

Social proof works best when your capture features are already collecting real activity.

Script-only feature

Social proof is script-only. A hosted iframe cannot place a toast in the corner of the surrounding page, so this feature uses the regular Sitebase script snippet.

Privacy

Toasts are intentionally generic. They can mention the event type and approximate location, but they do not expose private submission text or email addresses.
